What my Republican colleagues won’t do:
Over the past week, we’ve seen President Trump’s priorities:
Banning POLITICO, MS NOW, and CNN journalists from the White House.
Threatening to shut down the Kennedy Center because his name isn’t on it.
A “Trump” arch blocking Arlington National Cemetery.
All the while, his actions are causing gas prices to skyrocket and millions of Americans are losing access to health care.
President Trump will do anything to distract and hide from his deeply unpopular agenda while Americans are voting in the most consequential election in modern history.
It’s alarming, shameful, and downright embarrassing coming from the President of the United States.
But frankly, I find it just as dangerous that my Republican colleagues remain silent. They are putting Trump’s ego over the law, the Constitution, and even their own voters.
If Republicans in Congress can’t find their voice at this moment, they prove that taking back Congress for Democrats is the only way we can hold Trump accountable.
And my gosh, we can’t let this stand. We need more leaders in Washington focused on the pressing issues facing working families, not stroking the president’s ego.
Right now in Virginia, voting has already begun. The opportunity to step up and fight back at the ballot box is here.
Whether you live in Virginia or elsewhere in the country, there are three things you can do today to help Democrats in the midterms:
VOTE if you’re an eligible Virginia voter – or, if voting hasn’t begun in your state, make sure your voter registration is up to date, and that you know when and how to vote. You can make a plan by visiting IWillVote.Com.
Volunteer with a candidate or cause you believe in. The Virginia Democrats’ Coordinated Campaign is doing critically important work right now to reach voters, register new voters, and protect the vote in Virginia. Sign up here to find an opportunity that works for your schedule.
And of course, you can donate. My campaign is already up with ads on the airwaves, opening offices, and hiring organizers in every corner of the Commonwealth, and reaching voters every way possible. All of that work takes resources to continue, so if you’re able to, chip in to help us win big on Election Day >>
Thank you for all that you do,
Mark Warner
