What my opponent said on CNN

Last night, my opponent went on CNN and defended his “idea” that Donald Trump could “constitutionally” serve a third term as president.

Look, I don’t normally talk about my opponent.

I’m asking Virginians to re-hire me and elect Democrats across Virginia because of what we’re fighting for – not who we’re against.

But frankly, I don’t think this kind of crap should have any place in Virginia or any place in our politics.

We should be debating real ideas: how to lower costs, how to keep our communities safe at home and abroad, how to expand access to health care and how to tackle the many other big, complex problems facing our world right now.

Instead, my opponent is pandering to our President’s ego and trying to erode the checks and balances written into our Constitution.

You know, I actually remember when the Republican Party was the party of conservative principles. Now, it’s the party of Trump sycophants.

And I think it’s time we give the party of MAGA loyalists a wake-up call – by turning out in record numbers to defeat them at the ballot box

This is our year, Virginia, and this is our opportunity.

I’m going to keep getting out there, listening to voters and sharing my ideas for my next term in office.

But we all need to do our part to win big this year.
