Mark Warner for Virginia

My final pitch:
Today marks just 4 weeks until Election Day.
As we enter this final stretch, I’m making my pitch to Virginians, asking them to hire me one more time.

So here it is – my closing argument to voters:
One, we’ve got to end this grifting coming out of Washington – and actually get something done to lower costs for Americans.
When Donald Trump personally profits by over $2 billion while his policies cause prices to skyrocket for everyday Virginians…
… That’s not just wrong. That’s corruption on steroids.
I’m leading the fight to hold Donald Trump accountable, take on those in Washington who are profiting off hardworking taxpayers, and actually get something done to lower costs.
Two, we need to move past the partisan fights over Obamacare, and toward a system of universal coverage.
I helped write the Affordable Care Act, which massively expanded health care access and protected people with preexisting conditions, and I’ve worked to strengthen it ever since.
But it’s become clear to me that we need universal health care coverage to finally bring down costs for everyone and ensure every American can access a basic standard of care.
Three, we need to act FAST to address the challenges artificial intelligence presents to our country and to our workforce.
Artificial intelligence is going to transform virtually every sector of our economy, and we are nowhere near prepared for what that means for American workers, our national security, and our children’s health and safety.
We need to act now, and AI companies and big corporations that stand to massively profit must do their part, including preparing workers and paying their fair share of the enormous energy demands AI will place on our energy grid.
The challenges facing our country right now are big. There’s no doubt about that.
But I still believe that a better way forward is possible.
I first got into public service for one basic reason: Where you start should never determine where you end up.
That’s what this campaign is about – and that’s what’s at stake at the ballot box in 4 weeks.
Let’s get this done – together.
Thank you,
Mark Warner
